THE LOMBOK PROJECT: An Adventure Travel Photography Trip with an Impact
In August 2018, Indonesia was devastated by a series of lethal earthquakes. A magnitude 7 earthquake struck the island of Lombok killing hundreds of people, damaging thousands of homes, displacing 350,000 locals and destroying more than 400 schools. Needless to say, the island was left devastated by its effects.
More than five months later, the island is still reeling from the impact of the earthquake. To help the people of Lombok, travel photographers and content creators, Jackson Groves and Josh Lynott, are hosting a once in a lifetime travel experience.
10 people have the opportunity to explore the island of Lombok with Groves and Lynott, visiting some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Indonesia. The guys will take you on adventure after adventure visiting wonderments like, Tiu Kelep, one of the best waterfalls in Indonesia. You will hike up Mt Rinjani with an official guide, plus, camp on the ridge! You’ll also visit Benang Stokel where you will find five unbelievable waterfalls along a jungle trek, as well as, enjoying the beautiful beaches and surf the south coast of Indonesia has to offer.
Having travelled to Lombok in 2017, Groves is excited to share the island of Lombok with others stating, ‘I truly believe this trip will be a life-changing experience. Not only will we be exploring some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Indonesia with other like-minded travellers, but we will also be delivering a Pop-Up School in the Jenggala community to bring education back for almost 100 students. It’s an opportunity for us to make a powerful impact for the people of Lombok.’
