The Best Cocktails You Need To Try On Your Next Bali Trip
Apparently, sipping on delicious elixir’s (aka cocktails), at trendy venues in tropical paradise is all the rage amongst the cool kids. Thankfully, here at The Leisure, we’re all about giving the people what they want. To tickle the people’s want for a delectable tipple, here are our top cocktails picks at some of Bali’s coolest wine and dine hotspots.
Oh Fishbone Local, you never disappoint us. Serving up some of mother nature’s sweet nectar you can find us here on the reg slurping back on a Local Margarita or Negroni. For a real treat we’re ordering the Fishbone Local G&T – a classic mix of gin, HD tonic, tangerine and tarragon. For another twist on a gin classic, the Gin Gimlet is also a personal fave combining tanqueray gin, kaffir lime and sea salt.
Mason is a fine dining space in the heart of Canggu, serving up modern Australian cuisine that is to die for. This time around we’re bypassing the food (oh slow cooked lamb we’ll be back for you) in favor of a mid-afternoon, courtyard cocktail. Open everyday, 6pm to late we love lazing in the string-lit courtyard with friends sipping on an ice-cold beer or a dry martini…often both. If you’re feeling adventurous we suggest trying out the Nosam Old Fashion – a blend of whiskey, smoked maple and bitters. For a hot summer’s day we can’t bypass a Valencia Spritz, the combination of Campari, lemon, blood orange and rose is delicious and refreshing.
Having opened their doors to the public beginning of August 2018, we haven’t been able to get enough of this 80’s inspired pool club. If you are yet to experience the ‘coolness’ that is Tropicola there is no better time than the present to head on in an order yourself a cheeky beverage. From beer, whisky, rum, tequila, gin and vodka, to their pool style classic mixes, freezies, jugs and coolades, Tropicola caters to every type of drinker. We love ordering a jug of their white rum sangria with rose, cocoa, berries and fruit when having a sunday session with friends. For a solo cocktail who can say no to a Porn Star Martini – we may have ordered it because of the name but it was still delicious thanks to the vanilla vodka, passionfruit and banana.
Da Maria is fave for a great night out with friends, serving up lip-smackingly good Italian (oven baked pizza you are our weakness) with a side server of cocktail. Team your pizza with an Aperitivo + Spritz, a glass of wine or choose from their large menu of classic cocktails and mocktails. We can’t go past the classic Antica Margherita Pizza washed down with a Da Maria Screwdriver – Vodka, orange and Rosemary. Praise the Italian gods!
Do you love cocktails? Mexican Food? If you said no, we are no longer friends but for the majority of you who responded with a resounding ‘heck yes’, Motel Mexicola is the place for you. You guessed it, it’s a mexican joint that’s serving up bucket loads of your favourite Mexican bites with an accompanying drinks menu to blow your mind. With section for ‘wine snobs’, a cigar selection and cocktails galore, Motel Mexicola is the perfect spot for a night out in Bali. Of course you can’t go past the classic Mojito, but for something a little different try the Tequila Express. The combination of El Jimador Reposado, coffee liqueur, revolver espresso and gingerbread will keep you going all night.
Potato Head has long been a favourite for party goers looking for a good drink and a good time.
Enjoy the epic sunset backdrop from the luxurious venue pool whilst you sip on mother nature’s sweet nectar. Whilst you can order the normal favourites such as wine and beer it’s their unique cocktails that have us coming back for more. For a touch of tropical, order the Big Swirl or a Tirta. The Big Swirl is a mix of vanilla tequila, vanilla infused Bali Arak, honey, mango, orange, citrus and spiced syrup dished up in a seashell cocktail cup, whilst the Tirta is a blend of Caribbean rum, fresh coconut and cane juice and honey served in a coconut cup.
